Product Description Replacing the existing cartridge is easy. Just slide the sanitary cartridge into the Scoop Free Automatic Litter Box and reattach the waste cover. The Scoop Free Replacement Litter Cartridge absorbs odor and moisture on contact, and after your cat leaves the litter box, the ultra-quiet Scoop Free automatically rakes the waste into a covered trap, leaving the litter bed smelling clean and fresh. The Scoop Free Replacement Litter Cartridge uses disposable litter tray cartridges filled with Fresh Step crystal litter, which stops odors significantly better than clay litter. Just change the disposable litter cartridge every 20 to 30 days (10 to 15 days for two cats) and toss the old cartridge away without seeing, touching, or smelling messy waste.

Litter Cartridge Problems November 9, 2008 Barbara A. Walesch (Minnesota) I have been using Scoop Free Litter Cartridge for 6 months. I have one medium sized cat. Within two weeks of inserting a new cartridge the bottom on the box is soaked through with urine and the floor beneath the cartridge is wet. Because I need to change the cartridge every 10 days to prevent the leakage, the product is too expensive for me to continue to use.Considering the cost of the refills, a plastic box to replace the cardboard box would be a terrific improvement!
Better prices available October 13, 2008 Michael A. Behr (New York, NY United States) The LT1s work in the ScoopFree litter box, which I happen to be a fan of. However, the recurring cost with two cats ends up being pretty high, since I have to change the litter every 10 days. That ends up being over $60/mo. Buying 6-packs helps to keep that price as low as possible. One thing to keep in mind: there are lower prices out there. Scoopfree's website has a subscription program which is $10 less, or $5/mo. That might not be much, but 11 months here on Amazon is the same cost as 12 there. I'm sure if I dig, maybe on ebay, there will be even better deals!
What a mess!!!!!!!!!!! October 12, 2008 Michael D. Aldridge These cartridges are way overpriced and make a hell of a mess. You are constantly stepping on litter that gets tracked all over the house and furniture.
Go for it! October 8, 2008 Libby Sanborn (iowa) Love this product--solved some nasty arguments at our house. If you calculate the cost compared to regular litter it's a bit high, but if you factor in the time you are spared doing a disagreeable task for several weeks at a time, I think it's very worth it. Our cat got used to in about 4 days and seems to love it now.
Great but doesn't last a month September 15, 2008 S. Cassady (Charlotte, NC United States) I love this whole litterbox system, but I find I have to change it every 2 1/2 weeks instead of every month. I only have one cat and he is a tad overweight, so that may account for the frequent changes. I wihs you could buy these refills is the grocery store or at Wal-Mart or Target, but they work well. Absolutely no odor until it's time to change!
