4 out of 5 stars Great nail clipper for my mutts   December 31, 2008
Jennifer L. Tyner (Springfield, VA USA)
This is a wonderful product for those that have anxiety about using the traditional nail clippers like I do. After cutting my dog's nail much too short, I decided to try this out in order to save me the heartache of watching my dog limp around due to my inability to properly clip. It is such a life saver. The noise is a bit loud, so it takes both my husband and I to do this task. One holds her while the other one uses the grinder as she gets scared by it. We usually bribe her with treats though in order to get the job done. :)

Please be aware though that the process itself is not fun as there is an unpleasant odor that comes with grinding the nail down. Also? I would not wear anything that picks up dust easily (like a dark-colored sweater) due to the shavings flying everywhere during the process. I'd even think about picking up some goggles if you don't wear glasses because it can get in your eye during the process.

Overall though, I really like this process as it gives me a little peace of mind that I'm not going to hurt either of my dogs when trimming their nails this way.

5 out of 5 stars Handy tool for pets!   December 27, 2008
Daisy Hill (Georgetown, KY USA)
The Oster Nail Grinder is a handy and easy to use nail trimmer for your dog. Be sure to introduce your pet to the grinder carefully so they are not frightened of it. Long nails will most likely need to be trimmed with hand clipper before using the Oster Grinder first time.

5 out of 5 stars Love it, love it, love it....   December 20, 2008

Product works as stated and does a great job on my dog's nails. Much, much easier than clipping her nails. I would definitely recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars Great for the money   December 9, 2008
Joseph Satterthwait (McQueeney, TX USA)
My dog is scared stiff of it, but he has always hated anything or anyone touching his nails. For us it is a two person job, but the grider does the trick.

4 out of 5 stars Good tool, however you must work with your dog to get him/her use to the noise and feel.   November 30, 2008

The tool does exactly as it says. But you must work with your dog alot to get them use to the noise and feel of the grinder. I massaged my dog's feet everyday for a week before the oster arrrived. This helped for my dog to get use to my touch and the practice that I wasn't going to hurt him. Then once the oster arrived I massaged his feet with the oster OFF. Then for the following week I massaged his feet with the oster turned on at different levels, but I didn't groom his nails. Then finally about 2 weeks ago I was able to grind his nails with ease. Again, this is a great tool for grinding nails, however you have to work with your dog and have a great deal of patience.
