Works like a charm December 20, 2008 Banancheck (Phoenix, AZ United States) I have a mini schnauzer and she barks non stop. I put the collar on her and she stops! She knows if she growls loudly or barks, it will trigger the collar. I shocked myself with the collar just to test it and it's no worse than when you get a little static shock from carpet. I was a little concerned by some of the reviews so I guess it just depends on your dog. She knows if she isn't wearing it she can bark, but when company comes over I put it on her and she growls softly, but no bark. This collar is worth its weight in gold for us!
unsure yet bout this collar December 12, 2008 Becky Pronia We think the batteries that came with it might have been old and weak. Ordering a new one will cost you $10. We've only had it on the dog a few times, but he is putting 2 and 2 together with it. If he does get zapped he will pine and mope for days. That's the big caution here... you can break a dog very easily if you aren't paying attention. So far we haven't noticed any sores or burns from the prongs, on stronger collars that's a problem. I'd say it does help when we use it.
bark collar September 15, 2008 Melissa M. Hudson it works well on one of my dogs but doesn't seem to work so well on the other. we only had to use it a few times before they understood to stop barking. i am glad we bought them.
BURNED MY DOGS NECK! September 1, 2008 Dan H (California, USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
After reading a lot of positive reviews, I went with this BC-102 collar. I found one other review that said that their dogs neck was burned, but figured it must have been a fluke or an over exaggeration. We tried it on my Lab/Border collie mix (55 lbs), because when we are driving to the park she barks like crazy and drives us nuts. The first time we tried it, she barked about 3 times before she started crying. My wife looked at her neck and found a Quarter sized burn on her neck. All the hair was burned off and the skin was blistered. I tried it on my hand and the lowest shock gave me a blister. I called their customer support and they told me that there is no way it could do that. So basically, they are telling me that I'm lying? They said maybe your dog is allergic to metal. I don't think an allergy would burn off hair and blister the skin!!! I sent the collar and large pictures to their customer service for testing and a refund. It was delivered to them more than 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard a peep out of them. I would not buy another product from "Pet Safe".
Shocking Pet Collar August 26, 2008 Mary A. Laffoon (Mountain City, NV United States) This is the worst training collar I have ever used My poor dog was terrified and would not stop barking and crying. I returned the collar for my money back.
